Empowering Your Team and Yourself While We Work Virtually during COVID-19!

There are many remote-working organizations that might flow naturally in this current COVID 19 situation when all other companies are learning the new reality. While we are in-bound (locked down) and working, the advantage is that we could still Move Forward and Connect — with yourself and the world around in a very efficient and meaningful way.

You could consider a few things to work efficiently and also build yourself in relationships. It might require you to the purpose that in your heart to see effective changes. Have you ever considered doing a self-assessment of your Strengths and Weaknesses and leveraging on strengths?

With that as a start, please consider the below three things while you connect with your colleagues virtually:

  • Collaboration Team spirit is of high importance. This is a magic word to accomplish greater things. Collaborate with your team members. Clarify your questions and deliver. This increases team productivity and also sets the bar high for goals that could be accomplished collectively.
  • Authenticity This is more specific to this context and an important one. When you are assigned with project tasks by your seniors/supervisors or you are a senior assigning and they delegate authority to you or you to your juniors, use it as an opportunity for development. When you are authentic, there is so much that comes out to try things in new ways. This can lead to creativity and innovation when you operate in that freedom.
  • Trust You get to build and be built when you are surrounded by people whom you could trust and you also are trusted by others. It starts by treating each person with much value for who they are. We all like to work with people we could trust and build from there. Establish trust in your teams and give each person an opportunity, build, course-correct and continue to build. Results will be startling.

What we dread could be transformed into a new beginning of our lives when we focus on the inner self and build it. It could start with a small thing — something like making your bed in the morning as soon as you wake up.

These efforts might be in such a contrast to what people are going through while we are losing lives around. In spite of this painful reality, we can be good stewards of what we have and build the lives around us. It starts with each one of us!

Everything else might have failed or gone down — the global economy, material wealth, hope, stock market, physical vulnerability to an attack of a virus and life might look pale or just a shadow. This might not be our permanent home but truth and light can lead us into eternal perspective during these scary times.

Go ahead and build anyway — yourself and your teams!
