Re-designing of Loan Origination Application, twice as fast as its previous version, for the Client ‘Open Road’.
Client Overview :
‘Open Road’ is a leading Auto re-financing company based out of Dallas/Fort Worth area focuses mainly on assisting its clients in finding the best auto loan terms for their new or used car purchase or by helping them save money by refinancing their existing vehicle.
Problem
OpenRoad was using a web based LOS written in ASP, which has complex pages with performance issues. Learning difficulties and the scarcity of expert resources to handle ASP was a major concern.Though the client finds it difficult to handle, users are comfortable with the interface of the LOS. Hence, looking for a solution to modify the LOS in a way that would make it equally convenient.
Solution
Insight Consultants propose to re-design the Loan Origination Software in a way that would not change the user interface and the way it’s working. The new application will be designed in a way that will allow for scalability and interface re-design in future

Business Objectives
OpenRoad’s key requirements for the LOS re-designing is:
Though the client finds it difficult to handle, users are comfortable with the interface of the LOS.Current database have been optimized to provide the ideal balance between performance and functionality. So they are looking for a solution to modify the LOS in a way without the changing the UI. What we did? We used .NET, which is Microsoft’s current framework to build the enterprise application.
During the re-write, we didn’t changed the user interface design and the way of working. In new application, included a business layer which will contain the business classes required for the application. This layer will help to modularize the application so to allow for scalability in future. The separation of business layer will also allow OpenRoad to change the user interface design in future without having to re-write the application.
The re-write is done for selected functionalities of the LOS and the release was scheduled in 4 groups.
